Housing
As of June 2010, the student dormitories of the University of Debrecen can sleep 4864 people. All dormitories have a refrigerator in each room, a well-equipped kitchen on every floor, laundry facilities, study and clubrooms in each building. All rooms have internet access.
Room prices range from 7.500 to 50.000 HUF/month, depending on the number of beds in the room. Self-financed students need to pay the same amount as well as the normative fee of the dormitory which is, in 2009, 11.650 HUF/month.
Admission procedure
The admission system is the same for every dormitory of the university. The admission committee makes its decisions based on students’ seniority, financial situation and grades. Students with outstanding sport or research achievements will be given preference. First year students are admitted only based on their social circumstances.
The application deadline is set by the University Dormitory Admission and Social Committee (KFSZB). The application deadline for graduate students is the beginning of June and for first year students the middle of August. Students can apply online on the http://koli.unideb.hu webpage.

Off campus
A wide variety of apartments is available for rent in the immediate surroundings of the university. Prices range from HUF 50,000 to 120,000 depending on size, location, and equipment. The price will typically exclude overhead costs (electricity, gas, water), which amount to HUF 10,000-20,000 in summer and HUF 15,000-45,000 in winter.
