Tributes on the Day of Hungarian Culture
Professors and employees of the University of Debrecen received honors on the ocassion of the Day of Hungarian Culture on the 22nd of January.
György Balla head of the Pediatric Institute and Péter Pepó head of the Botany Institution received Szentgyörgyi Albert-award from the The Educational and Cultural minister of Hungary for their internationally acknowledged work regarding developing higher education.
For her outstanding kindergarten educator work, Ibolya Kovácsné Hajzer head of the Daycare-Home Kindergarten received Brunszvik Teréz-award from the minister.
Zsolt Szesztay college professor and conductor received the posthumus award of the Foundation for Debrecen’s Culture for his prominent work in Debrecen’s cultural life.
The creative award of the Foundation for Debrecen’s Culture went to László Orbán, researcher of the University of Debrecen’s and the Hungarian Academy of Science’s common textology research group, and Valéria Tóth linguist.
