Prize-Winning Lecturers and Students

2011/08/18, cs - 13:47

Two UD students and three lecturers have been recognized with the Pro Scientia Gold Medal of the National Council of Students’ Research Societies (NCSRS).

Faculty of Arts and Humanities student Ágnes Balajthy and Faculty of Science and Technology student István Timár have both been awarded the Pro Scientia Gold Medal, the highest recognition granted by NCSRS.

4500 students participated in this year's conferences, 77 of whom qualified for the Pro Scientia award. In the end 45 students were granted the medal, two of them studying at the University of Debrecen.

The Pro Scientia Gold Medal was established by NCSRS in 1989. Based on their scientific work, 45-50 young scholars are granted the recognition every second year.

The Council recognized the work of 45 outstanding instructors with the title "Master Teacher." Three UD lecturers: László Muszbek (General Medicine), Valéria Tóth (Arts and Humanities), and István Szabó (Science and Technology), earned the recognition.

The awarding ceremony will be taking place in the Grand Aula of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences later this year.
