International Success in Brazil

The team, supervised by József Posta, has worked out a chemical process for the biological cleaning of polluted water. Research results were published by a poster at the "Colloquium Spectroscopium Internationale" conference in Rio de Janeiro.

The biennial conference, focussed on analytical chemistry, has been organized since 1949 at different locations. This year's event saw more than 400 participating researchers from over 30 countries' universities and research institutes. The poster section of the week-long conference  featured 271 posters, including the one by József Posta, Edina Baranyai, Éva Fekete, Levete Karaffa, and Dávid Nagy. Eventually, UD's team won International Poster Special Award, a prize which carries a monetary award too, for their achievements in detecting and decomposing trichloroethylene.
