High blood pressure, personal treatment
On the 30th of January it was the 7th time the conference was organized by the cooperating medical institutes.
It was the 7th time that the Medical and Health Science Center’s Number One Internal Medicine Clinic Regional Hypertonia Center, the Family Health Department and the Hungarian Hypertonia Committee organized a conference together. Almost one thousand professionals (family doctors, internal medicine professionals, and pharmacists) came to the University of Debrecen to the conference titled "The hypertonia’s individual treatment”. At the further training 15 presentations were held regarding the modern treatment methods of high blood pressure. This illness concerns 30-35% of Hungary’s adult population. This means, every third adult suffers from hypertonia, and these numbers are increasing. The main problem of this condition is that the higher blood pressure values can stay hiden over years, so in many cases they discover the illness rather late. If the condition is not treated effectively the heart, eyes, kidneys and even the brain can get damaged, and there is a higher chance for diabetes as well. To avoid late diagnosis, its advised to have regular screening check ups and blood pressure measurements. Hypertonia is a chronic illness, it requires a years long treatment plan, and most of the patients need a complex solution. Next to medical treatment, it is also very important to do excercise, have a salt free diet and try to loose weight if the patient is overweight.
