Small Language - Great Opportunity
Support for the Department of Dutch Studies was the main subject between the Dutch ambassador to Hungary and the vice rector of UD on March 5.
Ambassador Robert Milders and cultural attaché Jan Kennis were received by vice rector Attila Debreczeni.
The Dutch Embassy in Budapest has been helping the Department of Dutch Studies with the organization of scientific conferences and the compilation of publications. The ambassador has been in office for 9 months in Hungary, but this has been his first visit to Debrecen, said Gábor Pusztai, head of department. Presently the department has over a hundred students, many of whom has studied in the Netherlands within the framework of the ERASMUS programme. UD regularly hosts guest professors from Holland, the next one is scheduled to arrive in April. Consequently, more and more companies are interested in the graduates of the department, who leave the university with a competitive knowledge.
